Background
The NSW Department of Planning and Environment engaged Open Lines and Biosis in 2017 to undertake broadscale biodiversity assessments for the preparation of a Biodiversity Certification Assessment Report (BCAR) across four growth areas (Greater Macarthur Growth Area, Greater Penrith to Eastern Creek Investigation Area, Western Sydney Aerotropolis and Wilton Growth Area) for the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan (CPCP). The objective of the CPCP being to facilitate growth in Western Sydney to 2056, including the delivery of important development as well as biodiversity outcomes.
Outcome
This plan will contribute to the Western Parkland City by supporting the delivery of housing, jobs and infrastructure while protecting important biodiversity including threatened plants and animals.
