Luke has over four years of experience in cultural heritage management, including Aboriginal and historical archaeology, built heritage and historic heritage. Luke has worked in Victoria on a wide range of projects and has extensive experience undertaking Aboriginal and historical archaeological excavations. Luke’s role as a Consultant Archaeologist has involved the collation and analysis of field data, background research, the preparation of historical summaries, the preparation and implementation of archaeological surveys, report writing, subsurface testing and excavations.
Luke’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts at La Trobe University, with a double major in Archaeology and History. He is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Archaeology at La Trobe University. Luke’s Honours thesis is investigating the settlement patterns of the Chinese community in the Creswick Regional Park from the mid to late nineteenth century.
Luke has worked on a variety of projects that include the preparation of heritage management plans for Defence estates at North and South Jervis Bay and the Garden Island Defence Precinct, the preparation of a heritage impact statement for Flinders Street Station, the preparation of Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs) for the Shepparton Line Upgrade, the Bendigo and Echuca Line Upgrade, an industrial and residential development at Mt. Atkinson, a proposed pipeline in Tinamba, a proposed quarry expansion in Donnybrook, a residential development in Pakenham, a road upgrade in Pakenham, and a commercial development in Wollert.
