In his role as Technical Director, James is responsible for maintaining and advancing the technical capability of Biosis and driving quality and consistency across the business.
James possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills with a focus on mapping and analysis automation using ArcGIS model builder and python scripting. He has more than fifteen years' professional experience in the use and application of GIS to various disciplines, particularly within the environmental and heritage consulting sectors.
James is experienced in map production, spatial analysis and spatial data management and has worked with numerous clients across Australia from a range of business sectors. James is a qualified esri trainer in a number of official esri ArcGIS Desktop courses from beginner to advanced level.
He has contributed to reports for both the Ecological and Cultural Heritage teams in the form of figure production, field data preparation and management, spatial analysis, landscape interpretation, LiDAR data analysis and management, and quantitative impact analysis (e.g. vegetation impacts calculations).
James has been integral to Biosis' migration to digital data collection methods using Field Maps and Survey123 for ArcGIS and the creation of web mapping applications for Biosis staff and clients.
